Slack is valued at $5 bln by investors

In the tenth round of financing, online service for corporate texting Slack raised $250 m. The main investors were SoftBank Group and Accel. According to Bloomberg, the startup is valued at $5 bln by investors.
The previous round of investing took place last year. At the time, the startup was valued at $3.8 bln. In one year, the price significantly grew. However, Slack developers plan to sell it for a higher one - $9 bln. Many companies are aimed at buying Slack, specifically, Amazon. Unfortunately, the parties haven’t agreed upon the bargain yet.
Experts claim that the bargain between Slack and Amazon would lead to another technological revolution. On Messenger, you can create chatbots based on voice assistant Amazon Echo. With the help of such bots, corporate clients will be able to purchase and order services in voice mode.
This spring, Slack has faced serious competition: Google converted Hangouts into a corporate chat while Microsoft launched Teams.
