An AI-system has outperformed British lawyers
20 November 2017

Students of Law Faculty at The University of Cambridge have developed a chatbot based on a neural network. It managed to prove superiority over real lawyers. The algorithm is called CaseCruncher Alpha.
The AI-system competed with one hundred best lawyers in London. Two participants had to investigate 775 disputable cases in the sphere of payment insurance. Their task was to define which cases would be resolved by a financial ombudsman and which ones wouldn’t receive a verdict.
The results showed that the forecasts of certified lawyers were 66.3% true while the chatbot got 86.6%.
